The African Library Project

PLAY Leadership finished the first phase of the African Library Project, which is organized by PLAY EcoEarth in collaboration with the African Library project. The goal was to raise 1,000 to 1,200 books and $650 to build a primary school and junior high school library for Namicheni Full Primary School in Malawi. The books were collected from December 10, 2024 to February 15, 2025, with picture books and softcover books being preferred. More than 1,200 books were donated and enough money was raised to pay domestic and international shipping costs. On March 1st, volunteers counted, sorted, and packed the books, and the books were mailed in early March. The first phase was a success and thanks to everyone who participated in creating this amazing library for children!
