The Full Story

PLAY EcoEarth was founded by Nathan Han, Allen Li, and Aimee Han in July 2023. Our

mission is to promote environmental conservation efforts for the local communities. In our subgroup, we engage our members to participate in various environment-related activities to help protect our community environment. These activities include but are not limited to, recycling bottles from the local communities and selling them for homeless kids,  “hike and clean” activities where we pick up trash on local trails, and donating books to create a library for underprivileged children in Africa. We believe that one of the crucial aspects of a perfect world is to maintain a healthy environment. By ourselves, we cannot do much, but together, we can make all the changes that we envision.

• Activities:

  • Bottle Drive - raised over $2500 from 2023 - 2025 to sponsor KAH, Holiday Card Drive, African Library Project, and other PLAY activities

  • KAH food packing - packed meals for hungry kids in Haiti, Ukraine, and all around the world

  • Holiday card drive - 3 times, totaling ~500 cards, to ITAV and senior centers

  • African Library Project - collected over 2000 books to build two community libraries for Malawi and Uganda

  • Backpack Drive - partnered with Family Giving Tree to donate backpacks and school supplies delivered to low-income children

  • The Crayon Initiative - recycling, sorting used crayons and remaking them into new ones

  • Open Heart Kitchen - served nutritious meals to underprivileged people in the Tri-Valley

  • Wastewater treatment plant tour - show the public how a wastewater treatment plant works
