PLAY LANGUAGE ART

PLAY Language Arts is a reading and writing course for students of 3rd/4th grade language arts levels. Students will be guided to learn fundamentals of Language Arts, including but not limited to vocabulary, reading comprehension, grammar, organizing writing and visual representation. Upon completing these lessons, they will gain growth in reading and writing skills.

Selina Lai

Selina Lai is a junior at Quarry Lane School and has been the co-president and reading instructor of PLAY Language Arts since 2020. For the past several years, she has taught annual reading comprehension classes and has truly enjoyed helping younger students strengthen their confidence in ELA. She is passionate about writing and reading and is excited to share what she's learned to help students discover literature in a fun and meaningful way.

Lily Yuan

Lily is a junior at Amador Valley High School. She has been a member of PLAY since 2019, participating in events such as garage sales, food packagings and distributions, gardening, face mask refurbishings, and donations. She is the co-founder of the PLAY Language Arts subgroup and leader of the PLAY Speech & Debate subgroup. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis and volunteering. She looks forward to being a part of PLAY as it continues to grow.
